The primary goal of this workshop is to create awareness and advance knowledge about issues in business ethics and supply chain social responsibility. Through readings, discussions, mini-cases and exercises, candidates will learn about a broad range of social responsibility factors, such as environmental concerns and “fair trade.”
This workshop will further acquaint you with facets of ethics in business, and expose you to international ethical issues and standards. The goal of this workshop is to allow you to improve your own ethical problem-solving skills in a highly interactive learning environment.
Upon completion of this workshop, candidates should be able to:
- Define “business ethics” and describe different perspectives on ethics.
- Critique an organizational ethics statement.
- Identify the various stakeholders with interests in ethical issues in the context of their organizations. 4. Explain the relationship between business ethics and corporate social responsibility.
- Discuss the rationale and potential benefits of sustainable supply chains.
- Identify opportunities for their organizations to create a greener supply chain.
- Calculate their carbon footprints.
- Evaluate the potential of ISO 14000 for their organization and supply chain.
- Know Canadian and provincial laws covering discrimination and harassment.
- Evaluate their organizations’ policy on discrimination and harassment
